March 3, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2346 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3974 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1545 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. DUSA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:DUSA), SAUER-DANFOSS INC (NYSE:SHS), SUPERCONDUCTOR TECHNOLOGIES (NASDAQ:SCON), USA TECHNOLOGIES INC (NASDAQ:USAT), CHINA MARINE FOOD GROUP LTD (AMEX:CMFO), SYNERGY RESOURCES CORP (OTCBB:SYRG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     DUSA $0.950 29.69% 1,431,156 50.23% 1,362,460 47.82% 68,696 723
     SHS $9.740 32.13% 514,684 47.76% 436,002 40.46% 78,682 81
     SCON $0.850 28.81% 5,551,576 54.23% 4,685,559 45.77% 866,017 10,188
     USAT $0.800 44.94% 3,640,421 55.57% 2,910,283 44.43% 730,138 9,127
     CMFO $0.910 23.70% 938,084 56.19% 724,570 43.40% 213,514 2,346
     SYRG $0.800 20.51% 171,914 85.44% 29,303 14.56% 142,611 1,783
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DUSA with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.95000 and a Friction Factor of 723 shares. That means that it only took 723 more shares of buying than selling to move DUSA higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
