Market Maker Surveillance Report. EWS, EEM, EMC, ATVI, LEI, MWWC, Highest Net Buy Volume With Lowest Price Friction For Wednes
March 2, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2689 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2757 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2358 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ISHARES MSCI SINGAPORE (NYSE:EWS), ISHARES MSCI EMERGING MKT IN (NYSE:EEM), EMC CORP/MASS (NYSE:EMC), ACTIVISION BLIZZARD INC (NASDAQ:ATVI), LUCAS ENERGY INC (AMEX:LEI), MARKETING WORLDWIDE CORP (OTCBB:MWWC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction EWS $0.020 0.15% 7,765,868 61.67% 4,855,559 38.56% 2,910,309 1,455,155 EEM $0.620 1.37% 36,587,439 58.70% 25,744,806 41.30% 10,842,633 174,881 EMC $0.250 0.92% 14,331,977 49.43% 11,857,231 40.89% 2,474,746 98,990 ATVI $0.060 0.55% 7,248,435 68.88% 3,272,733 31.10% 3,975,702 662,617 LEI $1.690 80.69% 10,352,596 52.36% 7,953,826 40.23% 2,398,770 14,194 MWWC $0.018 180.00% 4,454,429 84.87% 794,188 15.13% 3,660,241 2,033,467Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows EWS with a Net Buy Volume of 2,910,309 shares and a Friction Factor of 1,455,155 shares. That means that it takes 1,455,155 more shares of buying than selling to move EWS higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
