March 1, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2565 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1566 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3789 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MINES MANAGEMENT INC (AMEX:MGN), BASSETT FURNITURE INDS (NASDAQ:BSET), SONUS NETWORKS INC (NASDAQ:SONS), NANOVIRICIDES INC (OTCBB:NNVC), REPROS THERAPEUTICS INC (NASDAQ:RPRX), BULLION MONARCH MINING INC (OTCBB:BULM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MGN $0.500 14.37% 562,340 47.91% 530,010 45.16% 32,330 647
     BSET $1.020 15.11% 191,096 61.13% 121,227 38.78% 69,869 685
     SONS $1.030 33.99% 18,484,632 53.59% 15,975,112 46.32% 2,509,520 24,364
     NNVC $0.230 19.83% 465,492 55.28% 315,848 37.51% 149,644 6,506
     RPRX $1.240 27.56% 884,597 56.76% 657,431 42.18% 227,166 1,832
     BULM $0.420 27.81% 601,014 55.27% 484,447 44.55% 116,567 2,775
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MGN with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.50000 and a Friction Factor of 647 shares. That means that it only took 647 more shares of buying than selling to move MGN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
