February 23, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2431 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1618 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3671 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. DELTA AIR LINES INC (NYSE:DAL), ENERGY SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLE), PROSHRE ULT DJ-UBS CRUDE OIL (NYSE:UCO), PROSHARES ULTRASHORT S&P500 (NYSE:SDS), PROSHARES QQQ ULTRASHORT (NYSE:QID), US NATURAL GAS FUND LP (NYSE:UNG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     DAL $0.280 2.61% 17,582,653 49.12% 15,433,252 43.11% 2,149,401 76,764
     XLE $1.550 2.03% 17,549,594 54.83% 14,540,606 45.43% 3,008,988 19,413
     UCO $1.010 8.59% 13,120,195 55.75% 10,890,324 46.28% 2,229,871 22,078
     SDS $0.280 1.30% 31,712,428 54.55% 26,678,397 45.89% 5,034,031 179,787
     QID $0.170 1.62% 16,037,980 53.92% 13,792,436 46.37% 2,245,544 132,091
     UNG $0.060 1.10% 14,662,808 55.77% 11,890,927 45.22% 2,771,881 461,980
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DAL with a Net Buy Volume of 2,149,401 shares and a Friction Factor of 76,764 shares. That means that it takes 76,764 more shares of buying than selling to move DAL higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
