February 23, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2431 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1618 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3671 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. ACCELR8 TECHNOLOGY CORP (AMEX:AXK), RAMTRON INTERNATIONAL CORP (NASDAQ:RMTR), SATCON TECHNOLOGY CORP (NASDAQ:SATC), TRANS1 INC (NASDAQ:TSON), Fuwei Films (Holdings) Co. Ltd. - ORDINARY SHARES (NASDAQ:FFHL), BROADWIND ENERGY INC (NASDAQ:BWEN). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     AXK $-0.330 -12.60% 38,692 33.14% 62,346 53.39% -23,654 -717
     RMTR $-0.350 -13.73% 182,896 42.45% 246,173 57.14% -63,277 -1,808
     SATC $-1.240 -25.67% 6,718,655 41.43% 9,376,604 57.83% -2,657,949 -21,435
     TSON $-0.440 -12.43% 59,333 28.96% 145,045 70.80% -85,712 -1,948
     FFHL $-1.470 -23.48% 151,601 34.71% 264,144 60.49% -112,543 -766
     BWEN $-0.220 -12.43% 693,434 43.68% 890,190 56.08% -196,756 -8,943
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AXK with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.33000 and a Friction Factor of -717 shares. That means that it only took 717 more shares of selling than buying to move AXK lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
