February 15, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2379 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1979 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3407 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), DRYSHIPS INC (NASDAQ:DRYS), WELLS FARGO & CO (NYSE:WFC), ILLUMINA INC (NASDAQ:ILMN), ORACLE CORP (NASDAQ:ORCL), EVCARCO INC (OTCBB:EVCA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     PFE $-0.090 -0.50% 18,204,622 48.85% 15,154,540 40.67% 3,050,082 Abnormal
     DRYS $-0.020 -0.39% 7,293,894 60.27% 5,132,808 42.41% 2,161,086 Abnormal
     WFC $-0.240 -0.71% 11,819,948 49.03% 9,749,792 40.45% 2,070,156 Abnormal
     ILMN $-1.880 -2.55% 2,633,290 80.02% 635,345 19.31% 1,997,945 Abnormal
     ORCL $-0.510 -1.53% 12,031,272 62.28% 8,780,621 45.45% 3,250,651 Abnormal
     EVCA $-0.038 -36.54% 17,714,212 71.49% 10,374,779 41.87% 7,339,433 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EVCA with 7,339,433 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.03800. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
