Market Maker Surveillance Report. UQM, RHB, AMIE, CNXT, USAT, TTHI, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Tuesday, Feb
February 8, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2568 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3092 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2188 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. UQM TECHNOLOGIES INC (AMEX:UQM), REHABCARE GROUP INC (NYSE:RHB), AMBASSADORS INTERNATIONAL (NASDAQ:AMIE), CONEXANT SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:CNXT), USA TECHNOLOGIES INC (NASDAQ:USAT), TRANSITION THERAPEUTICS INC (NASDAQ:TTHI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction UQM $0.850 30.14% 1,267,548 49.80% 1,077,353 42.33% 190,195 2,238 RHB $11.340 44.52% 4,509,811 47.05% 4,073,490 42.50% 436,321 385 AMIE $0.230 22.35% 84,335 65.02% 41,568 32.05% 42,767 1,859 CNXT $0.370 17.90% 6,730,516 49.72% 6,657,249 49.18% 73,267 1,980 USAT $0.300 17.14% 1,797,018 57.90% 1,306,553 42.10% 490,465 16,349 TTHI $0.700 32.71% 147,193 60.70% 95,291 39.30% 51,902 741
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows TTHI with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.70000 and a Friction Factor of 741 shares. That means that it only took 741 more shares of buying than selling to move TTHI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
