February 3, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2675 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2615 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2484 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. EVERYBODY'S PHONE CO CORP (OTC:EVPH), NORTEL NETWORKS CORP (OTC:NRTLQ), FORD MOTOR CO (NYSE:F), QWEST COMMUNICATIONS INTL (NYSE:Q), ISHARES MSCI JAPAN INDEX FD (NYSE:EWJ), SUPERVALU INC (NYSE:SVU). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     EVPH $0.013 104.17% 8,891,074 65.32% 4,361,079 32.04% 4,529,995 3,623,996
     NRTLQ $0.012 30.54% 31,606,115 53.84% 26,734,880 45.54% 4,871,235 3,928,415
     F $0.380 2.47% 71,812,732 47.26% 65,289,874 42.97% 6,522,858 171,654
     Q $0.050 0.77% 15,721,431 83.00% 2,590,172 13.68% 13,131,259 2,626,252
     EWJ $0.040 0.36% 28,986,056 60.59% 19,183,896 40.10% 9,802,160 2,450,540
     SVU $0.670 9.22% 14,862,683 53.95% 9,921,248 36.01% 4,941,435 73,753

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SVU with a Net Buy Volume of 4,941,435 shares and a Friction Factor of 73,753 shares. That means that it takes 73,753 more shares of buying than selling to move SVU higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
