February 1, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2262 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4274 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1445 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. SPDR S&P DIVIDEND ETF (NYSE:SDY), UNITED MICROELECTRON-SP ADR (NYSE:UMC), RADIOSHACK CORP (NYSE:RSH), SPDR S&P 500 ETF TRUST (NYSE:SPY), VANGUARD EMERGING MARKET ETF (NYSE:VWO), ISHARES MSCI EMERGING MKT IN (NYSE:EEM). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     SDY $0.460 0.88% 562,609 6.92% 8,214,759 100.99% -7,652,150 Abnormal
     UMC $0.050 1.57% 1,861,617 29.04% 4,276,284 66.70% -2,414,667 Abnormal
     RSH $0.020 0.13% 1,806,682 30.65% 3,780,159 64.13% -1,973,477 Abnormal
     SPY $1.960 1.52% 78,106,069 49.39% 80,696,635 51.02% -2,590,566 Abnormal
     VWO $1.000 2.15% 10,190,703 41.56% 14,313,723 58.38% -4,123,020 Abnormal
     EEM $1.070 2.34% 52,190,809 48.00% 55,384,704 50.93% -3,193,895 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EEM with 3,193,895 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $1.07000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
