January 31, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2692 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3017 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2186 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. SAMSON OIL & GAS LTD-SP ADR (AMEX:SSN), ALLOY STEEL INTERNATIONAL (OTC:AYSI), CROSSHAIR EXPLORATION & MINI (AMEX:CXZ), DEPOMED INC (NASDAQ:DEPO), DATARAM CORP (NASDAQ:DRAM), ASIAINFO HOLDINGS INC (NASDAQ:ASIA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     SSN $0.520 23.85% 4,402,610 53.89% 3,132,811 38.35% 1,269,799 24,419
     AYSI $0.390 26.00% 130,786 58.20% 92,931 41.35% 37,855 971
     CXZ $0.320 17.20% 1,276,120 57.18% 863,907 38.71% 412,213 12,882
     DEPO $2.140 34.29% 6,364,221 52.41% 5,725,997 47.15% 638,224 2,982
     DRAM $0.370 19.47% 139,539 62.98% 81,687 36.87% 57,852 1,564
     ASIA $2.990 16.24% 1,879,594 55.47% 1,485,080 43.83% 394,514 1,319

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ASIA with a dollar gain Monday of $2.99000 and a Friction Factor of 1,319 shares. That means that it only took 1,319 more shares of buying than selling to move ASIA higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
