December 22, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2666 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2936 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2462 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. USSE CORP (OTC:UCRP), JACKSON HEWITT TAX SERVICE (NYSE:JTX), WISDOMTREE BRAZILIAN REAL FD (NYSE:BZF), NATURAL ALTERNATIVES INTL (NASDAQ:NAII), EMCORE CORP (NASDAQ:EMKR), BIOFUEL ENERGY CORP (NASDAQ:BIOF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     UCRP $-0.025 -38.46% 35,500 19.01% 151,250 80.99% -115,750 -46,300
     JTX $-0.220 -11.34% 842,427 39.16% 1,308,219 60.82% -465,792 -21,172
     BZF $-3.350 -11.44% 54,124 49.46% 67,066 61.28% -12,942 -39
     NAII $-0.710 -11.83% 231,706 42.94% 466,513 86.46% -234,807 -3,307
     EMKR $-0.400 -25.16% 2,092,994 43.65% 2,698,491 56.28% -605,497 -15,137
     BIOF $-0.330 -16.58% 384,709 47.05% 413,314 50.55% -28,605 -867

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BIOF with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.33000 and a Friction Factor of -867 shares. That means that it only took 867 more shares of selling than buying to move BIOF lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
