December 6, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2603 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2654 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2660 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CHINA SHEN ZHOU MINING & RES (AMEX:SHZ), COLUMBIA LABORATORIES INC (NASDAQ:CBRX), BORDERS GROUP INC (NYSE:BGP), GRAMERCY CAPITAL CORP (NYSE:GKK), EMCORE CORP (NASDAQ:EMKR), MINES MANAGEMENT INC (AMEX:MGN). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     SHZ $0.720 23.38% 2,361,840 49.02% 2,179,942 45.25% 181,898 2,526
     CBRX $0.350 23.18% 6,406,515 50.00% 5,878,060 45.87% 528,455 15,099
     BGP $0.310 28.70% 6,896,484 46.97% 6,399,437 43.59% 497,047 16,034
     GKK $0.580 25.66% 1,247,880 55.08% 838,610 37.02% 409,270 7,056
     EMKR $0.260 19.40% 1,976,951 72.61% 745,583 27.39% 1,231,368 47,360
     MGN $0.700 24.31% 344,251 48.70% 329,267 46.58% 14,984 214

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MGN with a dollar gain Monday of $0.70000 and a Friction Factor of 214 shares. That means that it only took 214 more shares of buying than selling to move MGN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
