December 6, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2603 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2654 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2660 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. GOLDRICH MINING CO (OTCBB:GRMC), SPDR S&P RETAIL ETF (NYSE:XRT), LIBERTY GLOBAL INC-A (NASDAQ:LBTYA), PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), POWERSHARES QQQ NASDAQ 100 (NASDAQ:QQQQ), ISHARES MSCI UNITED KINGDOM (NYSE:EWU). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     GRMC $0.010 3.45% 36,800 0.69% 5,282,902 99.31% -5,246,102 Abnormal
     XRT $0.020 0.04% 3,368,057 43.98% 4,919,871 64.24% -1,551,814 Abnormal
     LBTYA $1.250 3.53% 1,430,162 36.95% 3,232,114 83.51% -1,801,952 Abnormal
     PFE $0.190 1.16% 22,484,684 42.43% 25,070,974 47.31% -2,586,290 Abnormal
     QQQQ $0.010 0.02% 16,908,030 47.08% 18,995,072 52.89% -2,087,042 Abnormal
     EWU $0.020 0.12% 3,775,350 32.58% 7,812,515 67.42% -4,037,165 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EWU with 4,037,165 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
