December 6, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2603 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2654 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2660 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. CYBERDEFENDER CORP (NASDAQ:CYDE), CDC SOFTWARE CORP-ADR (NASDAQ:CDCS), COMMONWEALTH BANKSHARES INC (NASDAQ:CWBS), AC MOORE ARTS & CRAFTS INC (NASDAQ:ACMR), INVESCO VAN KAMPEN MUNICIPAL (NYSE:VMO), ENDWAVE CORPORATION (NASDAQ:ENWV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CYDE $-0.460 -15.81% 136,606 36.19% 240,113 63.62% -103,507 -2,250
     CDCS $-0.860 -12.10% 51,585 32.62% 106,080 67.09% -54,495 -634
     CWBS $-0.130 -11.51% 62,619 45.64% 74,580 54.36% -11,961 -920
     ACMR $-0.270 -12.86% 153,975 43.38% 200,996 56.62% -47,021 -1,742
     VMO $-1.550 -10.26% 177,065 43.34% 213,454 52.25% -36,389 -235
     ENWV $-0.270 -11.30% 119,433 42.32% 162,769 57.68% -43,336 -1,605

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ENWV with a dollar loss Monday of $-0.27000 and a Friction Factor of -1,605 shares. That means that it only took 1,605 more shares of selling than buying to move ENWV lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
