  • Boeing's head of government affairs and top lobbyist is leaving effective immediately, the planemaker's CEO told employees in an email Friday.

Boeing's top lobbyist, Ziad Ojakli, is set to leave the company in February 2024, following the departure of CEO Dave Calhoun at the end of the year. Ojakli, who has been with Boeing for 17 years, played a significant role in managing the company's relationships with government officials and navigating through various crises, including the 737 MAX crashes and the recent grounding of some MAX 9 jets. His exit comes as part of a broader leadership transition at Boeing, which is also seeing changes in its board of directors. Ojakli's departure was announced internally, and he will assist in the transition to his successor, whose identity has not yet been disclosed.
